Meet Dr. Jean-Claude Kharmouche
For more than twenty-five years, Dr. Jean-Claude Kharmouche has helped patients across Northern Virginia rebuild healthy, confident smiles. He is a board-certified periodontist and the founder of NOVA Perio Specialists, with offices in Sterling, Leesburg, and Aldie, VA.
Dentistry runs in Dr. Kharmouche’s family. His father, Dr. Emmanuel Kharmouche, a former Assistant Dean at the Dental School of Aleppo University, introduced him to the profession early on. Working in his father’s dental lab as a teenager taught him craftsmanship, patience, and respect for precision—values that still guide his work today.
Education and Advanced Training
Dr. Kharmouche earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University in 1993, then completed a three-year specialty residency in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
He continues to advance his skills through national conferences and professional development programs to stay at the forefront of implant and regenerative techniques.
Professional Credentials
He has also been recognized by Northern Virginia Magazine as a Top Periodontist for his excellence in patient care and clinical results.
Teaching and Leadership
In addition to private practice, Dr. Kharmouche serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University (MCV). Teaching keeps him current with new research and allows him to share his clinical experience with future dentists and periodontists.
Practice Philosophy
Dr. Kharmouche believes every patient deserves clear explanations, gentle treatment, and results that look and feel natural. He works closely with each individual to create a personalized plan that restores comfort, health, and confidence.
His team’s goal is to combine advanced technology with a calm, supportive environment where patients feel genuinely cared for.
Beyond the Operatory
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kharmouche values time with his family and enjoys travel, reading, and continuing to learn about the art and science of his field. His curiosity and commitment to growth are what keep his practice innovative and patient-focused.
